So, on the bus today, Nora and I got on to the topic of what we'd do if we won an obscene amount of money in the lottery (I originally typed that "lootery," which also works). We decided that after buying quaint, deceptively small-looking Victorian houses with acres of bookshelves, Fluevogs, and vintage flapper dresses, we would set out to make the world a better place. So we started brainstorming. There were a few obvious things-- world hunger, supporting lifesaving medical research, blah blah blah dogoodercakes-- but once all that's taken care of, we'd still have a pretty serious chunk of change left.

So what did we decide to do?

Naturally, we decided to buy the houses next door to assorted scary right-wing fundies and give them each to a different committed gay couple. This sounds bizarre, but think about it-- imagine Jerry Falwell living next door to a lesbian couple with three children. He's out in front of their house with a buch of picketers, yelling "Sin! Siiiiiinnn!!!!" and they're just like, "Can you get off the driveway? Jenny's got a violin lesson at three, and we're driving carpool for Ben's soccer game." Hilarity ensues.
