I used size 8 DPNs, black Cascade 220 for my main color, and this fuzzy purple for alpaca blend for my accent color.
CO 30 stitches (If you have teeny wrists, or for that matter bigger hands than me, feel free to adjust this number. You'll be fine) in your accent color.
K 6 rows garter stitch. Switch to MC, knit 12 rows stockinette. Begin thumb gusset by:
Row 1: place marker, m1, k1, m1.
Row 2 and all even rows: k around.
Row 3: k to marker, m1, k3, m1.
Row 5: k to marker, m1, k5, m1.
Row 7: k to marker, m1, k7, m1.
Row 9: k to marker, m1, k9, m1.
Row 11: k to marker, m1, k11, m1.
Row 13: k to marker, m1, k13, m1.
Rows 14-16: k around. Divide thumb gusset by placing 13 stitches after marker onto stitch holder. Continue knitting hand stitches.
K 4 more rows in MC, then switch to accent. K 6 rows garter stitch, bind off.
Thumb: k 3 rows MC, switch to accent. K 4 rows garter stitch, bind off. Weave in ends.
