Crafts I have attempted:
I can sew reasonably well; I can follow a pattern, but without one I tend to make a mess. I made a small quilt in middle school, and I've done various modifications to existing clothes-- turning an old pair of jeans into a skirt, taking in a too-big shirt. The Robin costume is my biggest sewing challenge thus far.
I've been making beaded jewelry since middle school. I got pretty good at it, actually, though I haven't done it in a while. Not sure where all my beading stuff has gotten to since the move; it's probably in the basement with the rest of my stuff that isn't unpacked. I still wear the purple bracelet I made with the silver charms.
I learned to make friendship bracelets in second or third grade, at summer camp, if that counts as a craft. I can do the really wide, complicated ones with nine colors of string and really intricate knotting, so I think it does. I have a huge box of embroidery floss somewhere, but the last time I used it was on Jeri's bat mitzvah trip, when I used to it cross the language barrier.
Does drawing count? I can draw pretty well from a photo or another drawing, but my freehand tends to suck. I'm much better at faces than at bodies. And I can't paint very well, except with watercolors.
I love to knit, and continue to do it a lot. In fact, I just recently finished my first sweater-- someone remid me to post pictures. I've mastered double points, circs, cables, colorwork, simple lace, and simple shaping, but have yet to try socks, felting, or really complicated lacework. I will eventually, though. And knit a sweater with set-in sleeves.
I learned to crochet right after I learned to knit. I'm reasonably competent, but I don't really enjoy it as much as knitting.
I learned to spin a few moths ago, and I can produce a pretty even yarn with my drop spindle. I want a wheel. Unspun fiber is so pretty and soft and yum.
Next, I'm gonna try dyeing. I have a massive pile of cream-colored wool from a thrift store sweater I unraveled, and a ton of Kool-Aid. We'll see how it goes.
