I continue to not find much in the way of actual vintage clothes, but the universe has decided to make it up to me by providing incredibly cool non-clothing stuff. Which is how I ended up with a bound volume containing six months of Godey's Lady's Books from 1862.

Today's find: six months of Godey's Lady's Book, bound.

It has fold-out colored fashion plates.

With fold-out fashion plates!

It also has embroidery patterns, serialized fiction, advice for newly married ladies, recipes, Chemistry For the Young, and a whole lot more. My favorite part, though, is the section with answers to reader questions.

Possibly my favorite part of #godey's is the section with answers to reader questions. Figuring out the question is a fun game.

They don't print the questions, so puzzling out what the reader actually asked is kind of a fun game.

I am really nervous about having enough content to finish all the zines for the zine project.

Well, not the Les Mis zine. That one's gonna run long, if anything. But everything else, I might not have as much stuff as I need, and that makes me worry.

If anyone on my flist is interested in becoming a last-minute zinester, now's a good time to speak up. Contributions can be as short as 250 words, or a half-page of b&w art.

And signal boosts would be very much appreciated.
